A Light exists in SpringNot present on the YearAt any other period –When March is scarcely hereA Color stands abroadOn Solitary FieldsThat Science cannot overtakeBut Human Nature feels.Emily Dickinson
I covet each changing of the New England seasons. My awareness of this has become more attuned since beginning my gardening career over five years ago, but it is the Spring that makes me giddy. It encourages me to greet the day at dawn! I’ve discovered a love for that sacred time of day and do not want to sleep through it. The noises of Spring are brighter, higher, lighter. And as cliche as this is, REBIRTH, a fresh start, a new bud, a baby bluejay… the challenge of waiting until May for planting in New England consumes my mind from March onward! Gardening is my foundation and my space of calm and comfort.
